What to bring to a first consultation
Forty-five minutes go quickly. A short checklist so you leave with answers, not more questions.

A first consultation is 45 minutes with the lawyer who would run your matter. To make the most of it:
- The papers. Letters, contracts, emails, anything with a date on it.
- A timeline. Half a page of what happened, in order.
- Your questions. Write them down; it is easy to forget one.
- What you want. The outcome you’d be happy with, even if you’re not sure it’s possible.
You’ll leave knowing your options and what each would cost.
